What
is a Model/Talent Agent?
An Agent’s job includes marketing and
promoting various people that have the specific talents in acting, modeling or both.
An agent works closely with the models and talent to help them learn the various skills needed to land the job that
they are auditioning for. This means that the talent agent should have a good background in the type of career the talent
is interested in pursuing.
An Agent will spend a good deal of time networking
with directors, photographers and other clients that have a need for models and talent of some sort. The agent will then be
able to make recommendations, book auditions or even book jobs for the various models and talent that they represent that
meets the client's needs.
The more talent that an agent represents the
more likely it is that they will be able to fulfill the requirements of the client. In addition to just meeting with clients
a talent agent will also recruit new talent. This may be in the form of try-outs, modeling shows or even community based competitions.
Who does an Agent represent?
Both male and female models and talent of all ages, ethnicities and sizes.
Does an Agent have start up fees?
No. A licensed and bonded legitimate agency will make their money off of a percentage
of what you make when you book a job.
If a model or talent does not have the
professional pictures needed, the model and/or talent will be expected to provide the Agent with them at the models
and talent own expense.
Guarantees?
An Agent does not guarantee any work for models and talent represented. But
does guarantee to promote and submit models and talent for auditions, castings and other work that fits the specs.
